Endview plantation offers the following interactive children’s camps for the summer.

Battle of Big Bethel-Civil War Reenactment

April 2-3, 2011 - 10:00 am- 4:00 pm

Join us as we commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Big Bethel In 1861,

Union General Benjamin Butler’s forces collided with Colonel John Magruder’s Confederate troops at Big Bethel becoming the first land battle of the Civil War. Experience the sights and sounds of the Civil War battlefield including cannons, muskets, drums, trumpets and horses. Learn about Civil War camp life and what soldiers did during quieter times.

10 am: Gates Open
11:30 am: Cavalry Battle
12:30 pm: Presentation: Fashions and Customs of the 1800's
1:30 pm: Camps Close until after battle
2 pm: Battle of Big Bethel
4 pm: Gates Close

Sunday April 3, 2011
10 am: Gates Open
11:30 am: Infantry demo
12:30 pm: Signals Demo
1:30 pm: Camps close until after battle
2 pm: Battle
4 pm: Gates Close
